THE woman at the centre of a saucy scandal at Burton Albion slammed the media for portraying her ‘unfairly’ – on the day she sold her story and bikini-clad pictures to a national newspaper.

Kerry Miller lost a recent tribunal against her former employer for constructive dismissal, sexual discrimination and harassment.

During the hearing, revelations surfaced about Ms Miller’s sexual relationship with former Albion player Ryan Austin.

She also admitted sending explicit pictures to 23-year-old striker Billy Kee and entering the team changing rooms on four occasions.

The 46-year-old told the Advertiser she had been ‘shocked’ by the widespread the coverage of the hearing.

She complained many media outlets portrayed her ‘unfairly’ as being ‘out to sleep with the whole squad’.

Ms Miller, who worked for the Brewers in sales and marketing for 18 months before resigning in February 2013, said her ‘public ordeal’ had led to her children being bullied at school.

But yesterday she appeared in a double-page spread in a national newspaper, illustrated by glamour shots, and gave racy details about her experiences.

Speaking to the Advertiser, Ms Miller said: “Everyone thinks I’m the one who’s been in the wrong and that’s hard to deal with for me and my children.

“I can’t help but feel the media wouldn’t have jumped on this so much if I was dumpy, fat or ugly and I wouldn’t have got all this negative attention.

“I wouldn’t even say I’m a flirty person. My role meant it was the professional thing to do to be friendly and wear a smile on my face. I can’t help it if the players found me attractive.

The widowed mother-of-three, who lives at Marchington, added: “When I saw the story had made national headlines as well as the local papers I was absolutely shocked. It was even in foreign publications. I saw it had been published in Europe and even as far as China.

“I have a young daughter at middle school in Uttoxeter and there have been some really cruel kids who have been showing her the papers or reading bits of the report out to her.

“I’ve got thick skin and am a strong person, so I can handle it, but I won’t accept my kids being punished for all this.”

Yet, despite her protests, she yesterday featured in the Daily Mirror in an interview headlined ‘I’m not some Barbie-brain or a desperate WAG... I’m a flirt and if the guys like that, I can’t help it.’

She was quoted as saying: “I’m very friendly and some players had a thing about me. It’s the young lad fantasising about the older woman.”

In its ruling in the club’s favour, an industrial tribunal declared Ms Miller had been ‘the author of her own misfortune’.
