A UTTOXETER radio presenter has dropped a dress size in just two weeks as part of her charity weight-loss challenge.
The Advertiser reported two weeks ago how Kate Copeland had embarked on the challenge to go from a size 20 to a size 14 by March 27.
The East Midlands Internet Radio presenter is looking to raise £5,000 for the Midlands Air Ambulance through sponsorship.
And she is a third of the way to her target already after starting a gruelling fitness regime and diet enforced by Hoar Cross Hall instructor Kynan O’Leary.
She said: “It’s been really tough and keeping motivated has been a huge challenge.
“But there’s nothing like the feeling of standing in front of the mirror and putting on a dress that never fitted you, was too tight and showed your tummy, to find it now fits perfectly.
“When I’d put on some clothes in the past and found they were too small I’d get really upset and couldn’t go out.
“I’d really recommend others who need to lose weight doing what I’m doing.
“It’s really, really tough to put your body through such an intense regime but, when I’m standing there with a size 14 dress on, I won’t give a monkeys about the pain.”
Mr O’Leary has ‘cranked up’ Miss Copeland’s training and has recently added a ‘green smoothie’ to her shopping list.
Miss Copeland said: “It’s got cale and spinach in it and looks absolutely revolting.
“I think Kynan’s trying to turn me into Popeye the way he’s going with things.
“I go out with friends and they’re drinking wine while I’m on water.
“I also used to be a coffee fiend but I’m not allowed caffeine anymore.”
Miss Copeland’s progress will be documented on her radio show, which runs from 7pm to 10pm every Wednesday at emiradio.co.uk.
