JUNIOR speedster Josh Wells claimed a hat-trick of top three finishes at Trent Raceway.

Competing in the Novice A class, Wells was third in the opening heat.

He went one better in the next heat before taking the chequered flag in third place for the final run.

Lexie Genders was fourth in the opening Novice B heat. There was less joy for the other Uttoxeter drivers.

Katie Thacker retired while Jacob White and Livi Wells – racing for the first time – both finished out of the points.

Genders repeated her fourth place finish in the next run, with Sam Barker fifth, Thacker seventh, White ninth and Wells 10th.

The final was a good race with Genders finishing third. The other Uttoxeter drivers finished out of the points.

In the Front Wheel Drive (FWD) championship Luke Durose finished a superb third.

A fantastic second heat was won by Lee Walker from newcomer Nath Plant, who gave a good account of himself. Adam Durose was seventh.

The final FWD race was won by Billy Richardson who led from the first lap. Plant came from the back to finish fifth. Walker was forced to retire.

Just four cars took to the grid in the Rear Wheel Drive championship.

Rob Walker opened up with a race win, with Charlie Thacker third.

Walker claimed his second chequered flag in the next heat. Thacker moved up a pace to take second.

The field was depleted even further for the final run, with Thacker tasting victory to claim her first win of the season ahead of Walker.

Abbots Bromley racers Rob Fowell and John White lined up for the Super Stox heats.

Fowell was fourth with White third in the first heat.

Fowell was second in the next run, and white 5th. The final proved a very fast race, with Fowell third – one place ahead of White.

Action at Trent Raceway continues on Sunday from 12.30pm.
