Home gift ideas for Christmas

Written byLeah Cassady

I hate to admit it, but Christmas is getting closer and it's time to start thinking up your gift list and ticking some items off (if you haven't already that is).

So, to help you with this mamoth task, we've put together a list of great home present ideas to help inspire your list.

These quirky salt and pepper mills will make a great gift for any fan of the retro puzzle. They are so realistic, the top layer rotates to operate the mill along with the same feel and sound as the classic, meaning your guests will never guess their purpose.

Rubik’s Cube Salt & Pepper mills: £11.99 from Getting Personal.

British artist Richard Bramble has turned his attentions to cheese and created a new range of tableware. Our personal favourite is this Porcelain Cheese Platter/ Cheese melamine board and knife which is perfect for any foodie friends.

Cheese Broad with Knife: £39.95 from Richard Bramble.

If you know someone who likes a little vintage, these hand made signs made from authentic vintage letter SCRABBLE® tiles on wooden racks would make a great gift. Choose from 'bedroom', 'bathroom', 'toilet', 'study' or 'Pantry'.

Vintage Scrabble Letter Tile Signs: £15 from Ellie Ellie.

For that sweet toothed person in your life, how about this delicious, calorie free gift. Yankee Candles have launched a new desserts range, with three amazingly sweet fragrances. My favourite is the sugary Red Velvet Cake, perfect for a guilt free treat! You can get a jar, tumbler or a filled glass dessert dish.

Dessert candles £22.75 - £11.99 from Yankee Candle.

Many of us love a good book, so if you have a friend who is a fan of the classics, why not give them one of these NovelPosters. Each poster is made of nothing but the book’s text all of which is legible and it’s the entire book from start to finish!

Choose from The Great Gatsby, Alice in Wonderland, Huckleberry Finn, Pride and Prejudice or The Wizard of Oz.

NovelPosters: between £22.50 - £26 from The Literary Gift Company.

We all have that friend who is always late, so why not drop a subtle hint and buy them a great new clock. We’ve found some stunners, a London landscape for those urban lovers or a wood land scene for the more rural dreamers.

Woodpecker Clock - Brown: £83

London Skyline Wall Panel Clock: £49.50 both from Red Candy - Karlsson.

If you have a creative friend or one who is just starting their own family, this elegant wall art displays pictures creating your very own family tree or alternatively use it showcase some great memories.

Family Tree Wall Sticker: £94.80 from Bambizi.

If you know a fan of original and classic board games, perhaps they’ll like these items which featuring nostalgic designs from the Monopoly and Cluedo game boards, re-spun into practical pieces for the home and kitchen.
