Protesters call for Robin Hood Tax
A group campaigning for new taxes to tackle poverty and climate change staged a protest outside a bankers' meeting, calling on the Government to rein in the "out of control" banks.
Demonstrators dressed as "champagne-swigging" bankers lobbied the annual conference of the British Bankers' Association in London.
The Robin Hood Tax Campaign, a coalition of charities and other organisations, is pressing for new financial sector taxes.
Spokesman David Hillman said: "Britain is still a playground for bankers. They have been let off the hook for causing the largest crisis of a generation and continue to pocket billions at the public's expense.
"Yet another talking shop will not repair the damage done by banks. The time has come for a Robin Hood Tax."
