HOLLYOAKS star Anna Passey is hoping to be crowned Villain of the Year as she makes it on to the short-list for the British Soap Awards.
The former Thomas Alleyne’s pupil, who is better known as the soap’s sinister Sienna Blake, is asking the town to get behind her and get voting for the awards in London next month.
The 29-year-old is joined on the shortlist by fellow Hollyoaks stars Jesse Birdsall, who plays Fraser Black, and Greg Wood, better known as Trevor Royale, as well as Eastenders star Charlie Brooks who plays Janine Butcher and Dominic Power, who plays Cameron Murray in Emmerdale.
Miss Passey told the Advertiser: “It is unbelievable. I’m not sure it has ever happened before that Hollyoaks has three nominations in one category.
“It shows that we have some amazing villains out there and Hollyoaks does it well. Villains are always the most fun to play as well.
“I am really excited. I went to the awards last year when I was very new to the soap so I am really looking forward to going this year and being nominated.
“I would like to thank everyone who voted for me the first time round and ask them to please get voting for me again. If not for me then Jessie or Greg who are both amazing as I think Hollyoaks should take home the award.”
The actress also thanked everyone from Uttoxeter who has supported her in her carer so far.
She said: “I am so thankful to everyone who has voted for me from Uttoxeter and my old school. It is really nice when people from your local area get behind you and send you messages or stop me in the street when I am home saying they have watched me in the soap.”
Miss Passey said although reactions to her character have changed from thinking she is pure evil to feeling sorry for her, she still has plenty of exciting storylines coming up as Sienna searches for her daughter that she thought had died at birth.
