Essential kit for keeping your hands snug while you're out and about this winter

DURING the winter, it is always important to make sure you wrap up warm, especially if you are venturing out on a long walk or getting on the bike for a winter’s day ride.

As we all know, there is little worse than having frozen hands, so it is always worth investing in a pair of quality gloves

The windy pro glove, from Extremities is a multi-functional glove made from two layer Gore Windstopper two layerfabric and pittards leather palm.

For a big winter glove, it never feels bulky, and the silicone grip on the fingers and palm are very secure, with a drawstring cord at the rear of the glove for a snug fit.

I decided to use these gloves in lieu of my rather flimsy winter road cycling gloves, I was somewhat apprehensive at first that the gloves might be a little too bulky, but I was wrong, due to their excellent fit.

For a well insulated glove, they have a lot of feel to them, and I certainly had no problems operating brakes and gears whilst wearing them, and more importantly, for the first time ever, I had warm hands during a winter ride – a real luxury in my book.

In regular day to day use, the Windy Pro Gloves are also excellent, nice and warm, even in the most biting of cold weather

The build quality of these gloves is also top notch, with no signs of loose threads or poor material, which is to be expected for anything bearing the Windstopper logo, and with a pittards leather palm.

I could see these gloves lasting a long time.
