2013 marks the year that fashion targets breast cancer. Breakthough Breast Cancer have teamed up with various high street retailers to encourage women to wear their support for this great cause.
Every year 50,000 women in the UK are diagnosed with breast cancer – the most commonly diagnosed cancer in the UK. However, thanks to better awareness, better treatments and better screening, more and more women in the UK are surviving breast cancer. Breakthrough Breast Cancer is the UK’s leading charity dedicated to preventing the disease, promoting early and precise diagnosis and developing better treatments and care.
Fashion Targets Breast Cancer was set up in 1994 by Ralph Lauren after lost a close friend to the disease. He called upon the fashion industry to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer charities across the globe and the initiative has since raised over 12.5 million for Breakthrough’s lifesaving work.
This year Marks & Spencer, River Island, Warehouse, Topshop, my-wardrobe.com, Coast, Laura Ashley and Debenhams have all designed exclusive products for the campaign. Each carries a minimum 30% donation and can be teamed up for any occasion throughout the Great British seasons. Whatever your age, whatever your style, whatever your budget, there is something for you to get involved and Wear Your Support with Fashion Targets Breast Cancer.
