A DOCTORS surgery is to move to new premises as part of a much-anticipated development in Uttoxeter town centre.
Northgate Doctors Surgery, currently based in Church Street, will move to Carters Square in Uttoxeter on Monday, May 19.
The surgery is currently advising all its patients of the new arrangement and is calling on patients to help come up with a name for the new look practice.
A spokesman for the surgery said: “We look forward to welcoming our patients to the new surgery on the Carters Square development.
“The colour scheme will be white and apple green so it will be a nice fresh look for the premises.
“Progress is impressive and our anticipated move date is Monday, May 19.
“We can’t wait to welcome our patients to the new building.
“Plans are on display for the new practice layout and can be viewed by patients at our current surgery.
“We are inviting our patients to have a say in the new name of the new surgery.
“We want to know whether they think the name should change or stay the same with the new premises.
“Other recent developments include staff training on a new computer system.
“It’s not easy but it will have long term benefits for everyone.
“Text and email reminders will soon be available for appointments.
“Online appointment booking with selected slots will also be available.”
The new practice will join a number of brand new units at the Carters Square development including a new Asda, due to open on Monday, Home Bargains, Wilkinsons, Barnardo’s and Costa Coffee.
One store is yet to be announced.
