UTTOXETER residents are being invited to a special event spearheaded by their deputy police boss to tackle the issue of female genital mutilation.

Deputy Police and Crime Commissioner Sue Arnold is spearheading a campaign, on behalf of PCC Matthew Ellis, about this often hidden form of child abuse.

More than 250 people have already booked onto a conference on September 9, at Stafford County Showground.

Places can be booked online at staffordshire-pcc.gov.uk
