A COUPLE have appeared in a much-loved reality TV series where an eclectic group of strangers dine together for a week.

Jodie Rock and partner Ben Grocott appeared on the brand new series of Come Dine With Me Couples which is set to air after July 28, and Mr Grocott says the pair already know famous narrator Dave Lamb will have plenty to say on the episode.

Miss Rock, who lived in Uttoxeter for 15 years before moving to Trentham, said the episode promises to be ‘hilarious’.

Mr Grocott said: “Jodie applied as it’s always been on her bucket list to be on TV.

“I didn’t know anything about it until we got an email back from the production team, you never expect to be chosen for something like this but we both had several phone interviews then were informed we had been selected.

“We were excited to film yet slightly apprehensive as you don’t quite know what to expect.

“It was a fantastic experience, and not something you do everyday.

“We weren’t prepared at all for the process of filming – it actually takes all day to film a single episode from about 9am in the morning to 2 the next morning, so although you expect it to be fluid you’re actually required to do a number of takes for some scenes.

“For example if you say something accidentally that can’t be said at 5pm on daytime TV.

“When you’ve chopped the same onion about four five times it starts to get a little tiring.

“It was great fun and we met some fantastic people.

“We haven’t seen the final result yet so it will be a total surprise and we can’t wait to see which parts they will use.

“For anyone wanting to apply I would recommend the experience 100 per cent.

“You definitely have to have a sense of humour and be prepared to have Dave take the mickey.”

The show is aired on Channel 4 at 5pm daily Monday to Friday and more information for those wishing to apply is available on the Come Dine With Me Facebook page or at www.channel4.com.
