WHAT would CBeebies Land be without a visit from some of the channel’s most-loved stars?

Ecstatic youngsters – and a few adults – at Alton Towers received a pleasant surprise as characters from the children’s favourite dropped in ahead of the opening of CBeebies Land later this month.

Children were allowed to get up close to Postman Pat, Tree Fu Tom, Upsy Daisy and Igglepiggle, who joined presenter Justin Fletcher at the Staffordshire theme park.

CBeebies Land will feature the Something Special Sensory Garden, the first theme park attraction to be designed for all children, including those with learning difficulties.

Mr Fletcher said: “To see our work on screen brought to life is really fantastic. The attractions are designed to help children learn about the world around them as they play.

“I never imagined that children would be able to come to a place like this and see the world of CBeebies buzzing with life all around them.”
