A UTTOXETER bargain store has enjoyed a prosperous festive period after seeing a strong increase in its sales.
The Original Factory Shop, in Trinity Square, saw a 4.2 per cent increase in like-for-like sales and an 11 per cent rise in total sales over a five-week period ending on January 8.
The store enjoyed an increase in like-for-like sales across the product categories including 10 per cent in ladieswear, 14 per cent in personal care, 12 per cent in toys, stationery and craft categories, 26 per cent in bedroom and bathroom, 17 per cent in grocery sales and 12 per cent in pet accessories.
Store manager Michelle Simpson said: “We had a really good Christmas this year, particularly in women’s fashion and gift items such as personal care and toys. We saw sales strengthen as December progressed.
“We know our customers love being able to shop locally for the whole family. Looking forward to 2012, we are more committed than ever to offering our customers fantastic value with quality brands at Factory Shop prices.”
