GENEROUS staff and customers of a Uttoxeter fashion retailer have helped the company raise an incredible £850,000 for a cancer charity.
Staff at M&Co, one of the UK’s largest independent fashion retailers, have been working tirelessly to fund-raise for Cancer Research UK since 2008.
The store in Uttoxeter High Street has raised a fantastic £1,780 since M&Co began its support of the charity.
Fund-raising has included 222 M&Co staff taking part in the Cancer Research UK Race for Life and fashion shows, such as the one held at Uttoxeter Racecourse by the town centre store last year.
Andy McGeoch, director marketing and business development at M&Co, said: “It is really fantastic that everyone has worked together to raise so much for Cancer Research UK.
“We have given ourselves a target of raising a total of £1 million for Cancer Research UK before July 2012 and we will strive to achieve this.
“Employees throughout the company, both in our stores and head office, have championed our fund-raising and made a real difference to the amount we raised.
“I’d also like to thank our customers in the local community for getting involved and helping us in our efforts.”
