POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a woman was assaulted during a robbery at a Uttoxeter hair dressers.
Staffordshire Police said two men entered Wendy's Hair and Beauty Salon, in Bridge Street, at 10.20am yesterday.
They approached the counter and one of them assaulted a member of staff by pushing her and causing her to fall to the floor. They stole a Apple iPhone 5c mobile phone from the counter before leaving the salon.
The victim, a 23-year-old woman from Uttoxeter, was uninjured but was left shaken by the incident.
Police said the men were are described as being of Turkish appearance. The first one, who assaulted the victim and stole the phone, was 5ft 6 to 5ft 8 inches tall, had dark thinning hair, a wispy beard, moustache and wore jeans.
The second, who stood at the door of the salon, was slightly taller than the first with a slim build, a lighter complexion than the first and had dark shaven hair and stubble. He wore jeans and a white top.
A police spokesman said: "Inquiries so far have established that the men were in the town centre for sometime before the robbery took place and we believe they have been into other shops in the town.
"If you think they came into your shop or business then please get in touch as you maybe able to help with our investigation."
