Ambulances are not hitting speed targets

NOT enough ambulances are reaching emergency call outs within eight minutes.

Nationally, a target has been set for responding to potentially life threatening situations within that time on at least four out of every five emergency calls.

In 2013/14, West Midlands Ambulance Service just missed that 75 per cent target, instead responding to 73.6 per cent of all 'Red 2' calls within the eight-minute time frame.

The Staffordshire division reached 73.4 per cent of emergency calls in eight minutes between April and June.
