ALTON Towers has revealed some good news for Uttoxeter jobseekers as it announced more than 1,200 seasonal positions.
The popular theme park’s annual recruitment drive hit the ground running last week as it announced its positions on offer for the start of its season on Saturday, March 16.
Kerry Alcock, Alton Tower’s resort recruitment manager, said the resort has already been inundated with job applications before the main advertising campaign started.
She said: “We’re looking for 200 more people than last year because we have a fabulous, and currently still top secret, new ride opening and three new Burger Kitchen restaurants.
“Our food and beverage department is therefore the largest recruiter from within the resort this time, followed by the ride operations team and then retail.
“All of our recruitment is done via an online application form through our website (www.altontowersjobs.com) and we’d already had over 2,000 applications before the main advertising campaign had even started.
“The calibre of candidates is also much higher so people are recognising the excellent opportunities for development that we offer.
“We are also recruiting for around 40 permanent roles in the hotels, including chefs, housekeeping, restaurants and conference and events.
“Even though we’re about 40 per cent recruited now, there are still plenty of jobs available.
“As always, we will be looking for outgoing people with great communication skills, as we look for personality over qualifications every time.
“It’s crucial we find people who fit the culture of our business as our parent company is growing at a rapid rate so there are tremendous opportunities for promotion worldwide.
“Generally all of our fixed term contracts offer flexible working patterns, full or part-time to suit home life commitments and an excellent starting salary.”
