THE fairytale is about to become a reality as Alton Towers reveals a sneak peek at its new enhanced cottages.
A prototype lodge is currently being showcased in the theme park ahead of the official opening in April 2015 when 120 fairytale lodges and five luxury tree houses will be launched.
Available from April 18, The Enchanted Village will be themed around a fairytale hideaway and located in woodland next to the Alton Towers Hotel – within walking distance of the entire park.
It will create 140 new jobs.
Katherine Duckworth, head of consumer marketing at Alton Towers Resort, said: "The new fairytale lodges are a significant development for Alton Towers Resort and we are delighted to be able to give a sneak preview of how they are going to look."
She said that the new lodges were designed to offer a distinctive short break for guests visiting the theme park, indoor water park and on-site spa.
The luxury tree houses will sleep groups of eight, while the fairytale lodges will provide accommodation for a family of five.
Each lodge will house a king-size bed, bunk bed and truckle bed. Guests can relax on their outdoor decking area, children can have fun in the quirky play areas around the village and guests can make use of the free car parking and easy access to the theme park and the rest of the resort.
The five exclusive tree houses all have four separate bedrooms with their own plasma TV.
Each tree house has its own unique style, with luxury furnishings, self-catering facilities and a lounge area with 50in plasma TV and games console.
The outdoor dining area will include a private hot tub.
