A UTTOXETER business consultancy is set to host a free session to advise those looking to set up their own firms.

Business Enterprise Support (BES) coach Darren Preston will host the session at the Advance Business Growth Centre, at St George's, in Church Street.

It takes place from 10am to noon on Friday.

Mr Preston said: "Setting up your own business for the first time can be a daunting experience, with lots of new information to take on board.

"You may have tried Googling for answers online but not found answers to your specific problems.

"Or you may have asked your friends or family but to no avail.

"I'll be able to answer any questions you may have related to starting that business you've always dreamed about.

"No matter how much thought you've given to the idea so far, we'll be able to help.

"Have you ever wanted to know what the benefits and pitfalls of self-employment are?

"Perhaps you're not too sure on how you'll approach marketing your new business, or are confused about the legislation and taxation requirements involved.

"We'll run through the initial questions you need to ask yourself to see whether you're fully prepared for starting your new business and ensure your future success."

Places on the session, which are free of charge, can be booked by calling BES on 01283 537151.
