ADAM Durose cranked up his Front Wheel Drive championship bid with a first and second place at a rain-soaked Trent Raceway on Sunday.

Durose finished runner-up in the opening heat before winning the battle against fellow Uttoxeter driver Nathan Plant to win the next.

In the final race Plant again finished second. Luke Durose was fourth with the other Uttoxeter drivers finishing out of the points.

The Novice A class featured Josh Wells and Lexie Genders. Wells was second in the opening run, with Genders finishing down the field.

Wells was first past the flag in the second heat, with Genders fifth.

An early lead for Wells proved crucial in the final race. He maintained that position to claim a second race win with Genders gaining an excellent second.

In the Novice B class Sam Barker was second in the opening heat. Katie Thacker was fourth with Jacob White and Sam Wells, racing for the first time, both out of the points.

The second heat saw Thacker take a brilliant second. Her local rivals all failed to pick up points.

The final run was another great race for Thacker who was third, while Wells gained his first ever point with fifth

Rear Wheel Drive championship leader Rob Walker lined up against Charlie Thacker and Terry Wood.

The first heat was run in very wet conditions. And despite being in the lead at the time, Walker’s race ended in retirement due to mud in his eyes.

That left Wood to take the flag with Thacker finishing third. A fast-paced second heat was won by Walker from Wood. Thacker was fourth.

Walker claimed another victory in the final race. Wood was third, one place ahead of Thacker.

Abbots Bromley’s Rob Fowell and John White were joined on the Superstox grid by Marchington’s Sarah Hoskins – and all three took points in all three races.

The first heat saw Fowell take second, with White fourth and Hoskins fifth. White was third in the next from Fowell and Hoskins in fourth and fifth respectively. That order was repeated in the third and final race.

The next Trent Raceway meeting is on May 25 with a 12.30pm start.
