A-LEVEL students at Abbots Bromley Girls School are celebrating after more than 83 per cent of pupils achieved grades from A* to B.

The results, which are building on an upward trend of improvement, mean that all of the candidates at 140-year-old Abbots Bromley School will obtain their preferred choice for higher education.

Girls from the school are now moving on to study courses across the country, ranging from dentistry, dance, accounting and finance, to politics and sociology.

The girls are heading to a wide range of top universities, including Queen Mary's College, London, Exeter, Newcastle and Manchester.

Abbots Bromley School's executive head, Victoria Musgrave, said: "We are delighted with these results and it means all of our A2 students will be able to access their courses of choice at university.

"This shows another year of improved results for our school, which is a testament to the conscientious approach of students and the absolute commitment of all our staff.

"Abbots Bromley is a school where outstanding academic achievement, coupled with a creative curriculum second to none provides a first-class education for all its students.

"I feel privileged to lead such a fine school."
