A NEW supermarket has brought 130 jobs to the town centre, and 25 of those are still open to applications from locals.
Asda Uttoxeter, in Carter's Square, will be officially opened at 10am on Monday, May 12 and the store is currently advertising its remaining vacancies on the Asda Jobs website at: www.asda.jobs
The jobs available to Uttoxeter jobseekers are part time positions across a number of departments in store.
Store manager, Matthew Stretton, said: “We’re really proud to be opening our new store in Uttoxeter and we’re excited to get the doors open in May.
“I’m also pleased to be bringing new jobs to the area, we are still recruiting for a team of colleagues who are willing to provide world class service to our customers and offer them a convenient and easy shop.
“We want to play our part in the local community and we’ll be appointing a Community Life Colleague to work with and within our new community.
“There’s no better way to do this than to learn from the best, that’s why we’re searching for a local hero to open our store.”
The 20,000 square foot store will be home to a 14,000 square foot food hall as well as a section for the very best George clothing range, along with its 100-day satisfaction guarantee.
It will also offer fresh, frozen and local produce, in store bakery, as well as Asda’s popular range of own label brands, such as the family favourite ‘Chosen by You’.
The store is also on the lookout for the town’s ‘local hero’ to help officially open its new store at 1 Carters Square.
The deserving nominated ‘hero’ will receive a VIP welcome from store colleagues before they take centre stage to cut the ribbon, declaring the store open.
They will also be given a £50 gift card to treat themselves further.
Heroes can be nominated by family, friends or work colleagues and could be someone who constantly makes life better for people in the Uttoxeter area, someone who goes that extra mile for a particular cause or person, or, an individual renowned for their local charity work.
Nominations are being accepted up until Friday, May 2 and can be sent via email to firstname.lastname@example.org, or in writing to: Asda Uttoxeter Hero, 3rd floor, 52 Princess Street, Manchester, M1 6JX.
