MORE than 100 cannabis plants have been seized by police during the second raid on a drugs farm in 48 hours.
One 18-year-old man and a 52-year-old woman were arrested at the property near Alton, while another man was arrested at an address in Werrington.
Yesterday’s raid was carried out after officers from Stafford found plants at a site in Meaford on Wednesday, with staff from Western Power joining the two raids to ensure the sites were safe for officers to enter.
The two drug finds are being linked and a total of 25 lamps were recovered from the Meaford factory, which was hidden behind a mound of haystacks in the back of a barn.
Officials had to ensure the property was not booby-trapped – with factories sometimes wired up so anyone trying to open a door handle is electrocuted.
A spokesman for Cheadle Police said: "We executed a search warrant at a farm in Alton under the Misuse of Drugs Act and a substantial cannabis cultivation has been found.
"People cant say they haven't been warned.
"If you're involved in drugs we will come after you.
"Officers are still busy at the farm in Alton dismantling the cannabis factory.
"Searches are still continuing."
